Cookies

We use cookies on our site to create the most accessible and effective website possible for our customers. Cookies allow you choose preferences and access products and services online.

Frequently asked questions

Do cookies mean I could get cold calls or junk mail?
The cookies we use do not contain any information which would allow us to identify you. We may use cookies to show you subtly tailored content on our site of things we think you might be interested in.

Do cookies compromise my security when using your website?
The cookies we use are completely safe and secure. In fact, they are used purely to provide essential functionality which allow you to browse the website.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are sent to and stored on your computer, smartphone or other device for accessing the Internet, whenever you visit a website. Cookies are useful because they allow a website to recognise a user’s device. At ATG, we use cookies to let users navigate between pages efficiently and enable other essential functionality.

Our cookies

On login, London First Construction service uses the wordpress_[hash] cookie to store your authentication details. Its use is limited to the personal area.

After login, London First Construction service sets the wordpress_logged_in_[hash] cookie, which indicates when you’re logged in, and who you are, for most interface use.

London First Construction service also sets a few wp-settings-{time}-[UID] cookies. The number on the end is your individual user ID from the users database table. This is used to customize your view of admin interface, and possibly also the main site interface.

The cookies length can be adjusted with the ‘auth_cookie_expiration’ hook (An example can be found at what’s the easiest way to stop wp from ever logging me out).

The actual cookies contain hashed data, so you don’t have to worry about someone gleaning your username and password by reading the cookie data. A hash is the result of a specific mathematical formula applied to some input data (in this case your user name and password, respectively). It’s quite hard to reverse a hash (bordering on practical infeasibility with today’s computers). This means it is very difficult to take a hash and “unhash” it to find the original input data.

Google Analytics Cookies

We use the default configuration of Google Analytics for measuring site statistics. For more details, visit this page on Google’s developer site: https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cookie-usage.
